"Thank you Louise, your support has been incredibly valuable and has made a real difference to my mental health"

Preal, M

Welcome

Hello, welcome! I'm Louise Garner - I practice as an integrative counsellor, offering counselling and psychotherapy both in person for adults (17+) in Dartford and the surrounding areas and online wherever you are.

I am currently taking on new clients....

I have availability throughout the week, including evenings and Saturday mornings, so we should be able to find a time to suit you.

Use the contact form below, email, text or call to arrange free telephone consultation.

What to expect when you come for therapy with me

  • Get in touch

Once you contact me I’ll text to arrange a free introductory consultation phone call. Consultation calls last roughly 15/20 minutes and are always free of charge and no obligation to book.

  • On the call I’ll briefly explain how I work and cover the practicalities of getting to my therapy room. After that it’s over to you — you can share as much as you like about what’s bringing you to therapy.

  • Book a session If we decide to go ahead, we’ll agree a time that suits us both and put it in the diary.

  • Confirm by payment

To confirm the booking, please make your payment 24 hours before the appointment. I'll let you know how on the phone call and confirm by text message, along with all the other information you may need.

  • Arrival on the day

At the arranged time I’ll meet you outside the building and walk you in. I'll meet you every session in the same spot.

In the session

  • We’ll complete a small amount of paperwork at the start — this is the only time you’ll see me writing things down during a session.

  • After that it’s your time: you talk and share what you want to, and I’ll be there to support you.

The first few sessions

Please don't feel you have to share everything in the first session. The first few sessions can sometimes be us getting to know each other and you getting settled.

We will work at your pace.

Standard counselling fee's are £50 a session.

My professional counselling experience includes running a private practice in Dartford for nearly two years, alongside I also work in a community-based charity, supporting a diverse range of clients. I previously worked within an NHS hospital setting where I provided counselling to staff. My experience includes working with individuals facing bereavement and trauma, including those affected by suicide, self-harm, and sexual abuse. I have developed particular expertise in supporting clients with multiple and complex diagnoses, such as EUPD, bipolar disorder, ADHD, autism, and complex PTSD.

My other professional experience, which spans over 20 years includes working with families of disabled children, unpaid carers, wellbeing befriending and further education student support.

Why Therapy?

Sometimes in life we all may find ourselves needing help or someone to talk to. It could be that you're struggling with something from your past; are you finding it hard to cope with the day-to-day, or uncertain about the future?  Whatever it is, having someone to talk to who is separate from your friends and/or family can be just what is needed. This is where therapy can help.

My Counselling Room... (photos coming soon)...

My counselling room is located in my garden at the back of my property. This is accessed by a side gate at the end of my driveway, there are a couple of steps up onto a patio, then a couple of steps down onto a lawn. At the end of the garden is my counselling cabin.

Please note there are no bathroom facilities on site.

I am located near to the Dartford Grammar Schools, postcode will be provided on booking. There is free parking on the road and surrounding roads.

How I work...

As your therapist, my role is not to provide you with the answers, but instead to provide a safe, non-judgmental space for you to talk and feel supported, enabling you to face challenges and feel a greater sense of well being, purpose and value.

As an Integrative Therapist I have trained in a variety of modalities and so I can adapt and blend these modalities to suit individual clients and situations.

I like to work creatively and will offer clients the opportunity to work in this way. If this is something that interests you we may work with art, music, buttons and/or guided meditation. This is always offered but entirely the clients choice.

What can I help with?

Stress, anxiety, depression, bereavement, OCD, PTSD, work related issues, identity, grief, self esteem, women’s issues, autism, EUPD, relationships and more.

Please get in touch to discuss your counselling needs or if you have nay questions.

If you find yourself in crisis, please either contact your GP, 111 or 999 in an emergency. You can also contact the Samaritans on 116 123 (free) anytime day or night.
